Rhodium’s Ex-Bankruptcy Counsel Seeks Sanctions in Fee Dispute

A law firm that worked as special litigation counsel to Rhodium Encore LLC during its Chapter 11 urged a bankruptcy court to sanction a committee of the Bitcoin miner’s board and its law firm for their “spurious attacks” over fees.

The committee and its counsel Barnes & Thornburg LLP launched a “malicious campaign” against Lehotsky Keller Cohn LLP that included frivolous accusations of professional and ethical misconduct and a violation of fiduciary duties, according to a Feb. 13 filing by the special litigation firm in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
