Retailer Gabe’s Starts Lender Talks After Skipping Rent Payments

Discount retailer Gabe’s is in talks with some of its lenders to address its dwindling cash coffers, according to people familiar with the situation.

The Warburg Pincus-backed chain is working with consulting firm Berkeley Research Group for operational help, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing a private matter. The firm joins a roster of advisers reported to be working with the company, including Jefferies Financial Group Inc. and A&G Real Estate Partners.
