Restructuring Firms Distress Each Other in Battle for Talent

Two Wall Street turnaround advisers have turned on each other, with FTI Consulting Inc. accusing Berkeley Research Group LLC and former FTI executives of plotting to lure away top clients and dozens of senior employees.

FTI has lost 36 people to its rival since April, according to papers filed by FTI this month in Massachusetts state court in Boston. The exodus included the company’s head of corporate finance and restructuring segment, Robert J. Duffy, and senior managing directors Stephen J. Coulombe, and Elliot A. Fuhr, who were all named as defendants in FTI’s lawsuit.
