Regional Retailer Bargain Hunt Prepares Potential Bankruptcy

Discount retailer Essex Technology Group, which does business as Bargain Hunt, is preparing a bankruptcy filing that could come as soon as next week, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

The Nashville-based retailer is working with Riveron Consulting for assistance as it considers a wind down of operations, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing a private matter. A final decision hasn’t been made, and the plans may change, they added.
