ProTom Files for Chapter 11 in Dallas To Sell Proton Therapy Device for Cancer

ProTom International Inc., a developer of a proton therapy device to treat cancer, filed a Chapter 11 petition in Dallas on May 12 to sell the business (In re ProTom International Inc., Bankr. N.D. Tex., 15-32065, petition filed 5/12/15).

Flower Mound, Texas-based ProTom said it holds the exclusive U.S. rights to patented technology incorporated into its Radiance 330 system.

ProTom began actively marketing the system to potential buyers in mid-2009, leading to three sale contracts. In March 2014, the company received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
