A Florida-based drug and cosmetics company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after recalls and health inspections showed some of its products were contaminated at its factories.
Product Quest Manufacturing, which produced over-the-counter drugs and cosmetics as well as some prescription drugs and animal products, received a warning letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in April for violations of pharmaceutical regulations at its Kannapolis, North Carolina plant. It also recalled products made in its now-closed facility in Daytona, Florida, the company said in a Sept. 7 statement.
