Porcelain Maker Lladro’s U.S. Retail Arm Files for Bankruptcy

The U.S. retail arm of Spanish porcelain figurine maker Lladro SA filed for bankruptcy Tuesday.

Lladro Galleries Inc.’s Chapter 11 filing in New York estimated assets of no more than $100,000 and liabilities of more than $1 million, according to court papers.

No other entities are linked to the retail arm’s bankruptcy, according to an email from the company’s general bankruptcy counsel, Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough. The retailer has four locations. A Chapter 11 filing typically allows a company to stay in business while it works out a plan to pay its bills.
