Pine Gate Gets Nod for Bankruptcy Sales to Amazon, Fundamental

Bankrupt Pine Gate Renewables LLC advanced an $83 million solar project sale to Amazon.com Inc., while offloading the rest of the assets it used to secure $624 million in loans from Fundamental Renewables.

Judge Christopher Lopez of the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas said at a hearing Monday he would approve a set of three transactions, including Amazon Energy LLC’s agreement to buy what Pine Gate previously called the country’s largest proposed solar project, subject to review of final orders.
