Past-Due Mortgages Continued to Decline At Fannie and Freddie in Second Quarter

Loan delinquencies at government-sponsored housing finance enterprises (GSEs) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac continued to fall nationally in the second quarter of 2013, according to a report from the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).

Loans backed by government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) that are 60 days or more past due fell to 3.3 percent in the second quarter, which the FHFA said is the lowest level since Fannie and Freddie were placed under federal conservatorship in September 2008.

The number of seriously delinquent GSE loans, 90 days or more past due, fell to 2.8 percent, the FHFA said. That compares to 7.6 ...
