The Diocese of Oakland, Calif., will have its Chapter 11 case dismissed at the end of the month if it hasn’t made substantial progress toward a bankruptcy exit plan that’s supported by insurers and abuse claimants.
The diocese and several insurers during a Wednesday status conference in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California supported a mediator’s request for two additional weeks and “not a minute later,” to present plan documents to the judge.
