Nikola Scores Bid for Enviro Credits, Begins Truck Sale Process

Bankrupt electric-vehicle maker Nikola Corp. has lined up commercial truck maker PACCAR Inc. to start the bidding for its environmental credits with a nearly $9 million offer.

The bid comes as Nikola gears up to market and sell much of its remaining inventory, including 103 of its 2023 heavy-duty commercial hydrogen-electric trucks, which it’s valued at nearly $47 million.

PACCAR’s offer would also set the floor for a process in which interested buyers can submit requests for proposal to place higher offers for the environmental credits, according to a motion filed on April 25 in the US Bankruptcy Court for ...
