New Hampshire Nears Possible Deal on Marijuana Marketplace

New Hampshire would join the rest of New England in 2026 in operating an adult-use marijuana market if lawmakers resolve differences between House and Senate bills within the next week.

After the state House rejected Senate changes to a marijuana legalization bill (HB 1633) Thursday, the chambers named conferees to seek common ground on a plan to legalize, regulate, and tax the sale proceeds. Negotiators have until June 6 to reach a deal, and any conference report must be voted on by June 13. The legislature’s session is scheduled to end June 28.
