Natura Will Pay $67m to Settle Litigation in the US

Company has become aware of a decision by the California Court of Appeals that upheld the first-instance judgement unfavorable to Avon Products in the Chapman case, related to allegations of asbestos contamination in talc products, Natura Cosmeticos says in filing.

  • Updated value of the judgement would be approximately $68.8 million
  • Company opted to enter into an agreement to definitively settle the case, through a payment of $67 million, “although this decision has not been officially published”
