N.Y. Design Haven ABC Carpet & Home Files for Bankruptcy (1)

ABC Carpet & Home, the more than a century-old New York luxury home goods retailer, filed for bankruptcy late Wednesday with plans to sell itself after the pandemic and a delayed renovation upended its business.

ABC sought Chapter 11 protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York. It listed assets of up to $50 million and as much as $100 million of liabilities in its petition. The filing allows a company to continue operating while it works out a plan to repay creditors.
