Monitronics Files for Bankruptcy Again Ahead of 2024 Maturities

Home security and alarm company Monitronics International Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for a second time after grappling with a heavy debt load.

The company listed $1 billion to $10 billion in estimated assets and the same range for liabilities in its petition filed in the Southern District of Texas.

The Dallas-based firm, which operates as Brinks Home Security, faced more than $1 billion of debt coming due in 2024. It earlier hired bankers at PJT Partners to assess options to tackle its debt load, Bloomberg reported.
