Monitronics International Inc. is weighing a bankruptcy filing that would hand lenders control of the home security and alarm company, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

The company, which operates as Brinks Home Security, is finalizing a restructuring agreement with lenders and may file for Chapter 11 protection in the coming days, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the matter is private. Discussions are ongoing and plans could change, the people added.
