Houston-based MMA Law Firm PLLC sued Louisiana’s Monson Law Firm, its founder, and Allied Trust Insurance Co., alleging a years-long campaign to dismantle the now-bankrupt firm and avoid paying millions of dollars in fees.
Matthew Monson, his firm, his wife, and Allied exploited judicial and regulatory institutions following Louisiana hurricanes in 2020 and 2021 as part of an effort to fend off litigation adversaries and skirt financial exposure, according to MMA’s Wednesday complaint in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
