Major League Baseball, the Minnesota Twins, and the Cleveland Guardians have filed an emergency motion to require bankrupt Diamond Sports Group to pay them millions in ongoing fees to broadcast their games.
Diamond Sports Group LLC’s refusal to make the post-bankruptcy payments while continuing to broadcast games and use the club’s intellectual property has “created uncertainty for the fans” and is “plainly inequitable” to the teams, the baseball clubs and MLB told the Southern District of Texas bankruptcy court on Wednesday.
