Miss America Operator Aims to End Bankruptcy After Debt Paid (1)

The company that runs the Miss America beauty pageant has asked a court to dismiss its own bankruptcy less than a month after it first sought protection from creditors.

Miss America Competition LLC filed for bankruptcy assuming it owed more than $4 million, but its owner current owner, Glenn Straub, has since learned from former Chief Executive Officer Robin Fleming that the debt has been paid, the company told the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida in a motion to dismiss filed Wednesday.
