McKinsey & Co. agreed to pay $25 million to a bankruptcy trust for PG&E wildfire victims, resolving potential claims related to the consulting firm’s work for the California utility giant and the state’s 2018 Camp Fire.
The settlement puts to rest Camp Fire victims’ potential legal claims that could have required several years to litigate, according to a Feb. 10 filing by the trust.
McKinsey, which will be released from any further litigation and disputes, denies any responsibility or liability for the fires, according to the agreement.
