McKinsey Foe Jay Alix Appeals Dismissal of Racketeering Suit (1)

Corporate restructuring icon Jay Alix is appealing a district court’s rulings that quashed his claims that McKinsey & Co. had engaged in illegal competitive practices to secure bankruptcy advisory work.

Alix, who retired from advisory firm AlixPartners but owns a sizable equity stake, is asking the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit to review his allegations that McKinsey violated the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act by intentionally concealing disqualifying conflicts of interest in large corporate bankruptcy cases.
