Malaysia’s U-Mobile Weighs Huawei, ZTE as 5G Partners: Edge

U Mobile Sdn. is considering either Huawei Technologies Co. or ZTE Corp. as partners as it prepares to roll out Malaysia’s second 5G network, the Edge reports, citing its chairman Vincent Tan.

• The Chinese partner will supply the 5G equipment and provide financing, Tan says at a media briefing Friday
• U Mobile plans to roll out the network in the next 15 to 18 months
• The firm also plans to list on Bursa Malaysia by the end of the year
