Maduro Appoints Delcy Rodriguez as Venezuelan Oil Minister

Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro named Delcy Rodriguez, his vice president, as the country’s new oil minister, according to an Information Ministry statement.

• Maduro named Hector Obregon, who was serving as vice president of state oil firm PDVSA, as the company’s new president, according to the statement
• Pedro Tellechea, who had served as oil minister and PDVSA head, was named as the new Industry Minister
• Maduro, speaking on state TV, ratified Rodriguez in her role as vice president
• Maduro named Anabel Pereira Fernández as Finance Minister
