The operator of a luxury California hotel filed for bankruptcy a second time, following a failed effort by the company to sue its lawyers for leading it into its first bankruptcy three years ago.
SC SJ Holdings LLC, which operates the Fairmont San Jose hotel, filed Chapter 11 in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California on Tuesday with between $100 million and $500 million in assets and in liabilities.
The company previously exited bankruptcy in late 2021 with $15 million from Hilton to rebrand the hotel, plus additional financing.
