Long Island Diocese Abuse Victims Get Extended Claim Deadline

Sexual abuse victims with claims against the bankrupt Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre will have the same amount of time to file their claims as they would in civil court.

The deadline date for abuse claims in Rockville Centre’s Chapter 11 case will coincide with the deadline under New York’s Child Victims Act, Judge Shelley Chapman of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York ruled Thursday.
