Latham & Watkins is Big Law’s leading M&A adviser so far this year, riding a second-quarter upswing in tech, telecommunications, and energy deals work.
The firm guided global deals worth about $269 billion in the first half of the year to unseat Kirkland & Ellis, Big Law’s reigning M&A adviser, according to Bloomberg Law’s league tables. Latham and Kirkland ($251 billion) were followed by Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz ($161 billion), Davis Polk & Wardwell ($149 billion), and Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison ($142 billion).
