Kirkland Cleared to Represent Invitae After Conflict Objections

Kirkland & Ellis LLP secured approval to represent Invitae Corp. in bankruptcy after a judge overruled objections from the Justice Department and junior creditors claiming the firm has a conflict of interest.

“The record supports a finding that Kirkland is disinterested,” Judge Michael Kaplan of the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey said at a hearing in the genetic testing company’s Chapter 11 case Tuesday.
