Kidde-Fenwal Bankruptcy Plan Details Remain Murky, States Say

The bankruptcy estate for Kidde-Fenwal Inc., a firefighting foam manufacturer once owned by Carrier Global Corp., has failed to clarify the scope of legal liability releases it intends to effect through a proposed liquidation plan, several states said.

Kidde-Fenwal hasn’t met expectations set by the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to clearly disclose how its Chapter 11 plan could affect creditor rights to pursue environmental contamination suits over “forever chemicals” against Carrier and other parties, a coalition of states and Washington, DC said in court papers Wednesday.
