Kentucky Town Seeks Bankruptcy Dismissal After Settlement

Hillview, Kentucky, which became the first city since Detroit to file for bankruptcy in August, is seeking to dismiss its case after reaching a settlement with a trucking company that includes issuing municipal bonds (In re City of Hillview, Kentucky, Bankr. W.D. Ky., 15-32679, notice of settlement 3/30/16).

The locality of about 8,000 sought Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection because of a contract dispute with a local company, Truck America Training, over a land sale.
