Jackson Walker LLP moved to toss a suit by former GWG Holdings Inc. bondholders over the undisclosed relationship between a onetime bankruptcy judge and an attorney involved in the life insurance company’s bankruptcy.
The suit alleging “unprecedented and systemic corruption” has no basis in law and ignores the fraudulent actions that caused the company to enter bankruptcy in the first place, the law firm said in a motion to dismiss filed on Sept. 12 in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
