Intelsat Said to Seek Purchase of Gogo Commercial Aviation Unit

Bankrupt Intelsat SA is looking to buy Gogo Inc.’s commercial aviation unit as its seeks to expand into new growth areas, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Luxembourg-based Intelsat could bid as much as $500 million for the in-flight Wi-Fi provider, said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing confidential matters. Intelsat, which filed for bankruptcy in May, is looking to pivot away from its traditional declining satellite businesses, according to a court filing.
