The trustee liquidating “anti-woke” fintech GloriFi sued the CEO of Animo Financial Services LLC, a banking startup marketed to the Hispanic community, alleging the business concept and underlying intellectual property was misappropriated from GloriFi without compensation.
GloriFi’s former VP of Finance and Capital Markets, Rodrigo Acuna, took part in a scheme to transfer valuable assets out of GloriFi to launch his own firm in 2022 as his former company began circling the drain, Chapter 7 trustee Scott M. Seidel alleged in a complaint Wednesday in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.
