House OKs More Money to Protect Environment, Rejects Cuts (2)

The House on Friday passed, 224-189, a four-bill fiscal 2021 spending package that reflects Democrats’ commitment to increasing money to protect the environment and to block the Trump administration’s energy agenda.

The minibus (H.R. 7608) includes $9.38 billion for the Environmental Protection Agency, $2.67 billion more than the president’s budget request, and $13.83 for the Interior Department, $2.3 billion more than the administration’s recommendation.

In addition, the Interior-Environment section of the package includes $15 billion for a supplemental critical infrastructure fund, with billions of that going toward EPA’s Clean Water and Drinking Water state revolving funds.
