Anna’s Linens Inc., a home furnishings specialty retailer, began conducting store-closing sales at all 252 of its locations on June 19 after no offer emerged by that day to buy the business as a going concern (In re Anna’s Linens Inc., Bankr. C.D. Cal., 15-13008, interim order 6/19/15).
The going-out-of-business sales began before Anna’s filed its Chapter 11 petition on June 14 in Santa Ana, Calif.27 BBLR 872, 6/18/15. On an emergency basis, the bankruptcy judge held a hearing to let the store-closing effort continue while giving going-concern buyers an opportunity to bid.
