Holland & Knight LLP has moved to dismiss a lawsuit alleging one of the law firm’s partners helped the former leader of bankrupt GWG Holdings Inc. in a scheme to “loot” the bond seller.
The GWG litigation trustee’s “threadbare” suit against Holland & Knight and litigation partner William “Bill” Banowsky fails to state plausible claims, lacks specific allegations, and doesn’t consider attorney immunity or the statute of limitations, the firm said in a motion to dismiss Monday in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
