Heller Ehrman Estate’s Jewel Arguments To Remain With Bankruptcy Court

SAN FRANCISCO–Lawsuits the Heller Ehrman LLP estate filed seeking unfinished business from other law firms will be heard in the bankruptcy court with district court final approval, a U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California judge ruled Dec. 13 (Heller Ehrman LLP v. Arnold & Porter LLP (In re Heller Ehrman LLP), N.D. Cal., 3:11-cv-04848-CRB, 12/13/11).

Judge Charles R. Breyer rejected arguments the district court was the better venue for the estate’s fraudulent conveyance claims against firms where former Heller lawyers and business went when Heller imploded in 2008.
