Hawaiian Airline Bond Price Soars After Alaska Air Announced Buy

Hawaiian Airline’s bond jumped to the highest since August in secondary trading on Monday after Alaska Air announced it agreed to buy the rival company.

  • The airline’s 5.75% bond due January 2026 climbed 14 cents to 93.7 cents on the dollar, according to Trace data, as of 10:39 a.m. New York time
    • It earlier climbed to as high as 95.5 cents, the highest since July
  • Alaska Air agreed to buy Hawaiian for $1.9 billion in cash and debt and will pay $18 per share in cash in a deal that includes about $900 million of Hawaiian’s debt, according to ...
