Grocer Earth Fare’s $6.4 Million Bankruptcy Sales Approved

Organic and natural foods grocery chain Earth Fare won bankruptcy court approval to sell 10 stores to four buyers for a total of $6.4 million.

There were no competing bids offered, so the sales went to the original “stalking horse” purchasers without an auction, Earth Fare Inc. said Tuesday at a hearing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for District of Delaware.

Bankruptcy Judge Karen Owens approved the sale of one store in Tallahasee, Fla., to ALDI Inc. for $350,000. Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. purchased three Florida stores for $1.65 million and is still negotiating to buy a fourth store in Jacksonville, ...
