Goldman’s Leveraged Finance Trading Head Malafronte to Exit Firm

Goldman Sachs Group Inc.’s top leveraged finance trader and partner Tom Malafronte is planning to depart the bank at the end of the year, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

He joined the bank from Credit Suisse Group AG in 2013, according to an industry record, and was promoted to head of US leveraged finance trading in 2019. A hot streak in 2016 saw him pull in about $300 million in trading revenue, making him one of the most successful traders among major Wall Street banks that year, Bloomberg previously reported.
