Goldman Said to Hire Bankruptcy Lawyer for Structured Finance

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. hired restructuring lawyer Humayun Khalid to join its structured finance investing and lending group, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Khalid, previously employed at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP’s bankruptcy and restructuring practice, starts next week at Goldman’s offices in New York, the people said, asking not to be identified as the information isn’t public. He will report to Thomas Tormey, global co-head of the group, which is part of Goldman’s securities division. The structured finance group focuses on lending and investing opportunities and structures transactions for clients, the people said.
