Germany’s SEFE Signs Preliminary Lake Charles LNG Supply Deal

Germany’s state-owned SEFE has signed a preliminary deal with Energy Transfer LP to buy liquefied natural gas from the proposed Lake Charles LNG export project in Louisiana.

A preliminary deal, known as a heads of agreement, has been signed, SEFE said in an emailed response to questions on Wednesday. The 15-year supply contract would be for 1 million tons a year, it said.

Energy Transfer said on Tuesday that it’s looking to finalize the remaining LNG supply deals from Lake Charles, and that a heads of agreement was signed with a German energy company. It didn’t identify the buyer. A ...
