Germany Approves Insolvency Protection for Package Tours

Germany will secure travelers buying package tours via a fund to which tour operators will make contributions, Justice Ministry says in a statement.

  • Tour operators will also provide a guarantee that can be used in case of insolvency to reimburse clients
  • Separately, 60,000 clients of Thomas-Cook tour operator have already applied for state aid, Tagesspiegel reports
