Georgia Poll Workers Move to Stop Giuliani Bankruptcy Maneuver

Rudolph Giuliani shouldn’t be allowed to eliminate or reduce the approximately $146 million he owes two 2020 Georgia election workers, the pair said.

Bankruptcy courts have often found that bankruptcy can’t be used to discharge debts stemming from findings of “willful and malicious” actions. Ruby Freeman and her daughter Shaye Moss argued in an April 5 filing that bankruptcy law prevents Giuliani from using Chapter 11 to avoid the monetary judgment, which he was ordered to pay after he was found liable for defaming them in connection with the 2020 presidential election results.
