Future Claims Rep for J&J Loses Bid to Revive Bankruptcy Plan

A judge rejected a call to reconsider his dismissal of a Johnson & Johnson unit’s bankruptcy that aimed to settle for $9 billion thousands of lawsuits alleging the company’s talc products caused cancer.

In denying the request from future claims representative Randi Ellis, Houston bankruptcy Judge Christopher Lopez on Thursday said his decision to throw out the bankruptcy and settlement was the result of extensive arguments and evidence over the course of a two-week trial.
