A large debt collection operation will resolve Federal Trade Commission charges involving illegal practices by paying $3.2 million, the largest civil penalty ever obtained by the agency from a third-party debt collector, according to a proposed consent judgment filed on July 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas (U.S. v. Expert Global Solutions, Inc., N.D. Tex., No. 3-13 CV 2611-M).
The defendants are Expert Global Solutions, Inc., formerly known as NCO Group, Inc., NCO Financial Systems, Inc., ALW Sourcing, LLC, Transworld Systems Inc.
