Ex-Uber Engineer Approved to Shop Bankruptcy Plan for Votes (1)

Former Silicon Valley engineer Anthony Levandowski won court approval to solicit creditors’ votes for a bankruptcy plan that proposes to resolve his former employer Google’s $179 million claim tied to his jump to competitor Uber Technologies Inc.

Uber, which had an agreement with Levandowski to cover claims for hiring the self-driving car technology engineer, will pay Levandowski $2 million, according to a settlement among the debtor, Uber and Google that was incorporated in the liquidation plan. Uber will pay Google an unspecified amount.

Levandowski’s bankruptcy estate will also pay Google up to $30 million through a trust, according to the ...
