Fish Taco Chain Rubio’s Goes Bankrupt for Second Time (1)

Rubio’s Coastal Grill, a fast-casual chain known for its fish tacos, filed for its second bankruptcy after high labor costs weighed on earnings.

The California-based chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Delaware, court filings show. Rubio’s listed assets of as much as $50 million and liabilities of at least $100 million in its bankruptcy petition.

The filing allows Rubio’s to keep operating while it works on a way to repay creditors. Bloomberg in January reported that Rubio’s hired advisers to review its portfolio of leases.
