FedEx Boosts Peak Season Surcharges Citing Higher Demand, Costs

FedEx says it will apply surcharges from Nov. 1 to Jan. 16 that will climb to as high as $3 a package for Ground Economy and as much as $6 per express package for high-volume shippers

  • The surcharges respond to “continued high demand for capacity and increased operating costs across our network”
  • High-volume surcharges will apply to customers that ship more than 25,000 packages a week in early October and that exceed that volume during peak season
  • Co. to begin a residential delivery surcharge of 60 cents/package beginning Jan. 17
