FAT Brands Landlords Object to Quick Bankruptcy Sale Process

Simon Property Group LP and other shopping center landlords are seeking extra protections and time to review sales of leases and other assets held by bankrupt restaurant chain owner FAT Brands Inc.

The distressed owner of branded chains, including Fatburger and Johnny Rockets, should be forced to revise its proposed Chapter 11 auction process by giving landlords greater access and more time to analyze winning bids, Simon and others said in a host of objections filed Monday with the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
