Faraday Founder Jia Sued by Ex-General Counsel Over Fraud Claims (1)

A former general counsel of electric car startup Faraday & Future Inc. is suing its bankrupt founder Jia Yueting, alleging that he’s entitled to damages after Jia made fraudulent representations to recruit him.

Hong (Henry) Liu, who left his job at the law firm Mayer Brown LLP to work at Faraday, is asking the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California to ensure his claims from an employment agreement aren’t wiped out in Jia’s personal Chapter 11 case.

Liu’s Tuesday filing didn’t specify the amount of the “unliquidated claim” he’s seeking in Jia’s bankruptcy.
